Who is responsible for the information?

For information collected through this website, Align Digital is responsible for deciding how and why that information is used. Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent to hello@aligndigital.co.uk.

What we collect

When you use the project enquiry form, the site can collect your name, business name, email address, telephone number, project type, indicative budget and the message you submit. We also record the page that referred you to the form where available.

When you use the Support Desk, we can also collect your website address, support category and priority, the problem description, files or screenshots you choose to attach, and the email conversation associated with the support ticket. Ticket records can be linked to an existing Align Digital customer account where the details match.

For abuse prevention, the application can store a one-way cryptographic hash derived from the source IP address. The raw IP address is not stored in the enquiry record by the application.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to understand what you are asking for, respond to you, prepare or discuss a potential project, and maintain an appropriate record of that business conversation. Support-ticket information is used to diagnose and resolve service issues, keep the conversation and work history together, notify the support team about urgent incidents, and maintain an appropriate record of support provided to customers. We also use limited technical information to protect the site and forms from misuse.

Lawful basis

Where you ask Align Digital to discuss, quote for or take steps towards providing a service, processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. We may also rely on legitimate interests where necessary to run the business, manage genuine enquiries, keep appropriate records and protect the website, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Who we share information with

Information may be processed by suppliers that help us operate the website, hosting and business email, where this is necessary to provide those services. We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell enquiry information to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Enquiry information is kept only for as long as it remains reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry, manage a resulting business relationship, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes or meet legal and accounting requirements. Records that are no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised.

Cookies and tracking

The public website does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioural tracking. A secure session cookie is used for essential functions such as form protection and administration. If analytics or marketing technologies that change this position are introduced, this notice and the site's consent approach should be updated before they are enabled.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, UK data-protection law can give you rights including access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing and objection to certain processing. Some rights are not absolute and may not apply in every situation.
